what a privlidge it is to have men like you in our camp.  the Charter Ceremony was a big success, and have heard many great things about it,  Thought I would share this report on our Charter Ceremony with you.  I received this description from Lee Roy Lance the Division 3rd Lt. Commander.

NEW CAMP CHARTERED in 2d BRIGADE

A new camp, Judge Roy Bean Camp #2298, was welcomed into the SCV, Texas Division, and 2nd Brigade on Saturday, 18 August 2018 in Iraan, TX.  The event included a nice meal served to the many families, friends, and SCV compatriots attending from around the state.  TexDiv Cmdr David McMahon presented the charter and camp officers were sworn in by 2nd Brigade Cmdr Don Taylor.  The camp consists of six members transferring from the Midland Camp with three new members.  The new members were sworn in by TexDiv Cmdr McMahon and Camp Chaplain Dave Crowder. 

Special guest Mike Parker (aka Judge Roy Bean) “presided” over his namesake camp’s ceremony before administering a special Judge Roy Bean Pledge to the Iraan camp members.  Stu Carter and Bob Hazelwood presented commemorative photos of Miss Lillie Langtry to Division and Brigade officers who participated.  The ceremony was concluded with a rifle and bugle salute from the Trans-Mississippi Old Guard (members from the San Antonio area) and everyone singing “Dixie”.
